This may sound like a dumb question but why is this statue controversial? If it is because he is naked? I know that many people are offended by nudity, they must hate taking showers :) It isn't like it is obscene or pornographic. It is tasteful and artistic. I guess there are different community standards depending on where you live. Seems there are some bigger issues to worry about than a piece of artwork.

    to RICH:

The statue was built near a motel in Davao City Philippines and some assumed that it suggest something malicious. Local politicians have been debating on whether the statue should be removed or not.

    Yvon,

*lol*, I just don't see how a naked man can be considered malicious. Especially when the naked man is a classic piece of art. I think that society has a long way to go in this subject, because there's nothing shameful about the way that we were born, nude.

    Trey,

EXACTLY! But some people just want to make an issue out of it even if there is nothing to argue about.
